Near the South Bank so great for the London Eye or theatres on that side of the river. Incredibly cheap, but truly wonderful Thai food served in plain but clean surroundings. And you can also get a fry up in the mornings. Of course you can. Full of locals. Bring your own bottle. A fiver is all you…

Greasy by day, Thai restaurant by night. BYOB.

It does good, affordable Thai food at night. You can get fry-ups for breakfast too, but I haven't tried those yet! This whole street is very lively - for example, Cubana is just next door for mojitos and Cuban street food

Cheap and cheerful thai food, very basic decor and presentation but good simple dishes

“Waterloo's quaintest backstreet pub, The White Hart is open at midday, with brilliantly cooked, traditional English pub food, from roast dinners to fish 'n' chips and burgers. Busy with local office workers in the evenings (between 5pm - 8/9pm), but if you don't mind that, it's a great atmosphere and a wonderful place to enjoy a quiet drink and a relaxing meal throughout the day. At just a slightly higher price than for regular pub meals, The White Hart is still highly recommended.”

Turkish Restaurant
“Ev is a hidden gem serving up fresh salads and Turkish pastries. The restaurant is wonderful, although we think the cafe next door is even better. The cafe can get a little busy at lunchtime so arrive early to beat the queue”
