Visit Hearst Castle with its exotic animals and rich Californian history. Then to Hearst Ranch winery for a great wine and lunch selection, then to the beach for great wildlife and sightseeing.

Hearst Castle (www.hearstcastle.com) is one of the areas most famous attractions. The castle is about an hour north in San Simeon down scenic highway one.

If you go North past San Simeon look for the signs for elephant seals. They are on the right west side of the freeway. Park your car and watch the incredible, enormous flabby mammals.
