About this place
In South Williamsburg only a few blocks inland from the East River, Marlow & Sons is a rustic respite with nice wine, good cocktails, and excellent snacking fare such as oysters, local cheese, and potato tortilla. But there's more: seasonal salads and soups, the famous brick chicken, a dimly lit space outfitted in various types of wood (this is an Andrew Tarlow restaurant, after all). In many ways, it's a cornerstone of the Brooklyn dining scene — superbly cozy in colder months, with a sidewalk patio for summertime people-watching and a bit of breeze.
Tips from locals
Very wonderful, intimate, cozy brunch restaurant! Amazing food. I recommend checking out this place and then walking across the Williamsburg Bridge next door!
Very laid back and relaxed - they do a very simple brunch which is always so satisfying.
Sister to Roman’s - another go-to date-night spot or good for a small group. Great atmosphere, delicious food & drinks. Sit outside in the summer months!
Delicious restaurant with a seasonal menu and dark, romantic atmosphere at night. All ingredients are sourced locally. The "brick chicken" is especially good.

“Retro railcar environment, cool and funky spin on a diner, located under the Williamsburg Bridge. You don't get a physical menu, the servers scribble the day’s offerings directly onto your butcher-paper tablecloth. All the food is excellent! 85 Broadway, Brooklyn, NY 11249”

“Butcher shop with cured meats, salads and specialty produce. The quality is amazing and we love to go there to prepare an out-of-the-ordinary pic-nic.”

“If you love steak, you should not miss out on Peter Lugar's. This iconic steak house is worth visiting. Although a bit loud, pricey and very busy, this is the place to splurge on an excellent meal. I highly recommend their sizzling steaks and creamed spinach. If you don't like waiting long to be seated (like me), I would recommend getting an early dinner reservation, around 4pm, then walk off the calories over the Brooklyn Bridge. Only downside is it's all cash, no credit cards accepted.”

Fried Chicken Restaurant
“Hipster spot and local favorite. There's a wait on the weekends. Amazing fried chicken and comfort food classics that make you feel good inside. The chicken biscuit might be one of the most ridiculously unhealthy things we’ve ever seen on a plate, and it’s delicious. Breakfast specials like chicken and waffles and they have homemade pies. ”
