Porta is relatively new to Altrincham. Situated very conveniently right outside the Market House steps, it offers a small but perfectly formed tapas menu. What Sugo is for Italian dining in Altrincham, Porta is for Spanish tapas. The slow braised ox cheeks, which just melt in the mouth, are a must-try. You can't reserve a table, just walk in and sit yourself down. There is seating upstairs as well as downstairs - the emphasis is on 'snug'. Some outside seating is also available for the brave few who can't wait until summer.

This is very local to the flat if you do t want to go into Manchester and it’s near a nice little pub called the New Oxford, nice for a quiet evening

Again, no need for a taxi home - just on Chapel Street is the lovely Portas Wine & Tapas. Traditional Spanish tapas and wine!
