Tips from locals
We love to walk around in their gardens. Whale watching is also special treat that this park has to offer. It's only about 30minutes drive from our b&b.
It offers a very large estate garden with trails and beach views for the adults. There are also several large lawn areas for children to run off the “wiggles”. There is a hidden beach if you’re up for exploring. Parking is only $5. We usually spend hours here.
Shore Acres State Park is the former estate of lumberman Louis Simpson. Though his enormous mansion on the cliffs burned in 1921, Simpson's stately gardens remained. Today, the public owns them and volunteers care for them. During Christmas season, the festive light show at Shore Acres is a main attraction to the area.
