When you decide that it is time to visit more distant beaches, Apothikes beach is an excellent choice. You can visit Apothikes, when it is too windy in Chora. You can go only by car, but please ask locals first, regarding the quality of the path / road. There is a beach bar with sunbeds and umbrellas.

Apothikes beach in Andros is a fantastic place that looks like it embraces Andros with its crystal clear waters. On the road to Chalkolimionas, below Stavropeda, the dirt road leads to the left to this sandy beach. It is said to be named after the small sheds built by those who took their boats out in winter to protect them.
