Enjoy Cayo Santiago while visiting the Humacao beach; this key stretches 600 meters (656 yards) from north to south and 400 meters (437 yards) from east to west, including the flat peninsula in the northeast that connects to the main part only by a narrow sandy isthmus. Although the island is flat in the north, it reaches a height of 34.9 meters (104.5 feet) 2.9 km (1.8 miles) southwest of the port, on a small rocky hill called El Morrillo, which rises steeply from the water and the lowlands around it. The island is part of the Punta Santiago neighborhood of Humacao.
