An Iron Age Broch, which is an ancient fort, this one of the best preserved brochs in Scotland. Just over the road is Dun Brewery, where you can buy beer, drinks and cake. (They are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays). There is another Broch, Dun Grugaig nearby. If you decide to take a trip here, we would recommend driving to the ferry at Kylerhea and crossing there. You'll drive through a beautiful pass, with great views of mainland Scotland and the ferry is a manually operated turntable ferry, the only one of its kind still in operation. The crossing is great, with a good chance of seeing seals and other wildlife. We would then recommend returning via the road, where you will pass over the Ratagan Pass for more stunning views, this time over Loch Duich.

Dun Troddan is situated in the beautiful valley of Gleann Beag and is unusually close (500m) to another broch, Dun Telve. Both brochs are in excellent states of preservation and are noteworthy for their scale, design and quality of build. Dun Troddan is considered to be the better preserved of the two.

At Dun Troddan, there is an organic brewery, Dun Brewing, with tap room, the Dun Inn. On foot, if you keep following the road that brought you to the brochs, you can follow a track all the way round into Moyle. See the Glean Beag to Suardalan bothy walks on Walk Highlands for more details.
