Close to Bodegas Ricla, this small place near the Plaza Mayor, has the best fried cod of Madrid. It has three tables and a stand up bar and it’s usually crowded. Just eat cod and have a drink.

Bacalao. Salted cod. The bacalao is a fish that's been cured and rehydrated. At Casa Revuelta they serve it battered and deep fried. It's basic neighbourhood bar, so don't expect anything too elegant.
