Deák Ferenc tér is the center of Budapest. Three metro lines of the four meet up here. Buses 16 and 105 driving towards the Buda Castle or 100E to the airport stop here. Tram 47-49 take you to the Hungarian National Museum, to the Central Market Hall to Gellért Baths and to the foot of Gellért Hill. Nothing is really far by walking (except for the airport :)), but if you decide to take public transportation, don't forget to buy and validate your ticket!
