If you’re new to exploring the countryside Witley and Milford Commons is a good place to start. It’s easily accessible and the footpaths and bridleways are clearly marked, you can’t get lost. The Commons is a lovely spot for family picnics too. Children will love our natural play trail - a great place to learn balance, gain confidence and to enjoy the fresh air. The countryside is an area of great contrasts with extensive heathland views and secluded woodland glades. There’s always something new to see; from the breathtaking purple heathers and buzzing insects to majestic trees and strange fungi. Witley is a fungi paradise. During the warmer months the Commons are alive with bird song from birds like tree pipits and woodlarks. Witley and Milford Commons is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).
