If you are interested in New Zealand native bird life and want to have close up encounters with some rare and endangered species this is the place to go, there are two Kiwi Houses to view our native nocturnal bird. Go during the feeding times and educational bird show, audio guides are provided in many languages. The park relies on support for funding $$$
Pretty much your only chance to see a Kiwi (and it's worth it- what crazy animals!). This is a local family-owned park. Make sure you plan to be there for the nature show & kiwi feeding times. Entrance fees are around $40 but go to a great conservation organization.
Want to see our national bird and our name sake the kiwi bird ?. Here the place.
A 5-acre wildlife sanctuary in the heart of Queenstown. More than 20 species of birds and reptiles live within the park, including kea, parakeets, wood pigeons, and yes, kiwis! You can actually go inside the enclosures with some of the exotic birds, which really enhances the experience.
