I would be remiss if I didn't recommend this wonderful little historical park where you can climb aboard and tour historic sailing and steam ships--it is where I work! Don't miss the free Visitor Center across from Hyde Stret Pier as well! You will learn a lot about the waterfront history of SF!

Ships, the Bay, the GG bridge, and open water swimming for the daring! Swam here regularly for 10 years. Nice beach and next to Ghirardelli Square

You want some SF magic? Go to Aquatic Park and take it all in. Land, sea and views for miles. My dogs love it here and so do the Dolphins... That's SF's swimming and boating club.
