Reasonably priced rooms and food. Fantastic view of Matanuska Glacier. Filled with mounted bears, wolves, and many other animals, & Diamond Willow woodwork throughout. Good stop even just for coffee.

Long Rifle Lodge is within walking distance of our cabin. They have an excellent restaurant and bar, with a stunning view of the Matanuska Glacier. Both our cabin and the lodge were built in the 1970s, with help from the same creative neighbors, so you will see similarities in the woodwork. Long Rifle Lodge serves great burgers, burritos, and has vegetarian options. The lodge is decorated with the widest variety of taxidermied Alaskan animals that you will probably find on your trip to Alaska - great for taking selfies! They do close early, so do not wait til late in the evening to go there.

Dinner with a view! If you plan on taking a drive up to see the Matanuska Glacier the Long Rifle Lodge has wonderful food, burgers and fries, salads but the fun is in the scenery and the Alaskan decor they have.
