45年前に建てられた本格的な茶室を備えた純和風の邸宅「茶室の宿・白椿」。 茶道のお稽古場としても使われていたこの家は、茶道家が京都の職人を呼び寄せて細部に至るまで材料も細工もこだわり抜いたデザインが今も魅力を放ちます。 特に、建物奥の「茶室」は、土壁や柱、天井、照明に至るまで自然素材でできております。 土壁等に染みが見られますが、伝統的な茶室は、壁の染みもまた「わび・さび」として味わうものですので、あえてそのままにしております。 100年近く前のアンティーク着物、小道具なども展示しています。 「茶道」「和風建築」「着物」など日本文化にご興味のある方に、茶室に泊まる体験をしていただきたいと思います。 また、本格的な茶道用の茶碗を数多く揃えています。 滞在中にぜひ一度、その茶碗でお茶を点てる体験をお勧めします。 二階にあるベッドの他、畳の部屋にご自身で布団を敷いてお休み頂けます。 布団を必要としない（添い寝で十分な）小さなお子様は無料で宿泊が可能です。 庭にテラスもあります。 庭の木々、草花は、茶室に飾ることを意図して植えられたものが多く、80種類を超える植物があります。

　宿泊施設は山あいにある築40年になる昔ながらのたたずまいを残している古い和風の一軒家です。和室8畳１間と10畳2間の広々としたスペースがあることから家族旅行あるいは親しい友人同士のグループ旅行に適した間取りです。もちろん、お一人様のご予約も承ります。予約された滞在期間中は他のゲストは受け入れませんので気兼ねなくお過ごしいただけます。ただし、各お部屋の仕切りは襖だけなのでそれぞれのお部屋はプライベートなお部屋としてはご利用できません。300坪の敷地内に建てられた住宅のため、隣家とは離れているのでご近所に気兼ねなく滞在できます。夏の期間中は前庭でバーベキューや花火などに興じることも可能です。もし、星に興味をお持ちなら晴れた夜には保有する光学機器で星空もご案内いたします。日中はドローンを使って庭先の上空から周辺の山々を空中散歩することも可能です。ここは都会では決して味わうことのない静かで自然豊かな環境と岩手県の遠野と共通する南部地方特有の古い伝統文化を今も色濃く残した地域です。なお、11月1日から翌年3月19日までの期間は冬季休業とさせていただきますのでご理解ください。
