Escape to Monkstadt 1745 and experience one of Skye's most historic homes in the peaceful setting of the Trotternish Peninsula Monkstadt was involved in one of the greatest pieces of Scottish history as Bonnie Prince Charlie came ashore after fleeing Uist in 1746 and hid in a cave only a few hundred yards from the house. The owners of the house at the time, Lady Margaret MacDonald and Flora MacDonald, helped him to evade capture from the Red Coats which meant he eventually escaped back to France

Loch Ness

Named after the most famous loch in Scotland, the Loch Ness room sleeps 4 people (1 double or twin beds and bunk beds) and offers and en-suite bathroom with bath and shower. This room also boasts an outside terrace with amazing views over the Fort Augustus and the River Oich. We are also dog friendly are happy to welcome well behaved pets with responsible owners.
