Nearby areas include Sagaseki-cho, famous for its horse mackerel and mackerel, Tsukumi, where you can eat kabosu, amberjack, and Bungo tuna, and Saiki, famous for its seafood, all easily accessible by car or train. MACOMO is named after "Makomo (true bamboo)". It is a plant of the Poaceae family that grows in colonies along the water's edge and is also called "Makomodake". Because it has a purifying effect on soil and water, it has been called "the grass where the gods dwell" and "the grass of fate" since ancient times, and is considered a sacred plant. It is used as a mat (mushiro) and a tool for purification in Shinto rituals such as at Izumo Taisha Shrine. We hope you have a pleasant trip to this inn. The house was built in 2005 but the first floor was partially renovated in October 2024. There is an outside deck that has panoramic ocean views. Bedding is one queen, one double and two single beds. There is also a futon mattress if needed (not super comfy). The house is in a residential area so refrain from making loud noise especially after dark. Being surrounded by nature near the ocean, you may occasionally encounter seasonal insects outdoors, particularly around lights at night.
