Legendary bakery and cafe--the Morning Buns are particularly popular, as is the country loaf, which sells out early every day. Get there when it opens (7:30 am) or be prepared to wait in a long line!

Parks & Nature

San Francisco's heart and soul, with a wide range of things to do and see, including a botanical garden, an arboretum, the DeYoung Museum, the California Academy of Arts, and the Japanese Tea Garden. Don't miss the bison paddock out toward the Ocean Beach end of the park. GG Park is also great for long walks and getting away from it all in nature.

Entertainment & Activities

A spectacular theater from the golden age of movies, which has been lovingly restored. This is the iconic showpiece of the neighborhood. The theater shows a great collection of classic movies, and is the headquarters for many of the city's film festivals. Keep an eye out for the ridiculously fun sing-along movies, which regularly appear at the Castro Theater.
