Food Scene

This bakery is owned by a few friends of mine. They make delicious American style desserts. My personal favorite is their salted caramel brownies.

This is a fun high end restaurant and bar around the corner. It gets really busy on Tuesday nights and the weekend. It features a French inspired menu with well executed dishes. On big nights it can get loud and doubles as something as a night spot on top of a restaurant.

This is one of my favorite restaurant/bars in Cairo. The cuisine is modern Latin American with some of the best ceviche and tiraditos in town. They have a delicious taco tuesday night that's worth checking out. Later in the evening the music gets turned up. They also have some of the better cocktails in the city.

Drinks & Nightlife

This is a pretty chill bar downstairs for grabbing a few beers. They also have a decent vegetarian menu for people searching for meat free dining options. I like Aubergine because it's a bar that you can actually hear people you're speaking to at and it's clean without being pretentious.

Essentials

This is one of my main stops for grocery shopping. They carry fresh imported beefs as well as some excellent frozen seafood, some of which can be hard to find elsewhere like tuna steaks and lobster. They've also got a large selection of imported cheeses and some of the best bread on the island. It's also convenient just down the street from the flat.
