Tap It is a great place to get a flight of beers and hang out before dinner. Super friendly staff, family-friendly environment with ping pong and other games in the basement. We love these guys! It's also the closest thing to the house. Note that Tap It closes at 7:00.

Gainesville's only brewery. It's OK, but if you're really into beer you'd be better off visiting Athens (about a 45 minute drive) for the day and checking out Creature Comforts.

Great place to park the car and go for a walk. The trail leads through the woods and across the main street from the square. Sometimes my wife and I will bike this trail into town and grab lunch on the square.

Great place to run or walk along the paved trail, play volleyball with a group, have a picnic by the lake, or take the kids to enjoy a playground. During the summers there's also a water playground that always attracts young kids.
Also a good spot to let a boat into the water. Closes at dark.
