Food Scene

Fantastic farm-to-table dining with exactly what you would expect for Vermont farm-to-table ambiance. There is a gorgeous covered porch wrapped in wisteria for when the weather is nice, and a huge stone hearth to keep you toasty in the winter. Brunch on weekends.

Fine dining in delightful Walpole Village. Really good brunch on weekends that is more affordable than their evening dining menu. Perfect place for a special night out.

Parks & Nature

The trailhead to this amazing trail is within walking distance of the house and is definitely my favorite local hike. I had gone hiking here with a school group when I was 17 and didn't realize until AFTER I bought the house that this was the same Pinnacle trail... at which point I felt like I had won the lottery. The hike up to the Pinnacle lean-to and back is about three miles and with a mix of walk/running usually takes me under an hour, but the trails go on for miles beyond, along the ridge so you could use the house as a base camp for a long backpacking trip or go for several different longer hikes during your stay.

Shopping

My favorite antique store, that I'm hesitant to send anyone to because I don't want it to get picked over. Very reasonable prices and museum-like decor that will hold your attention for hours on a rainy day.
