Just 4 mins walking from the house you can reach the famous Michelin-starred osteria headed by Chef Vittorio Fusari. Found close to the iron bridge from which the restaurant takes its name, Al Pont de Ferr is open for lunch and dinner week-round. And, while there is an a la carte menu offering many delectable dishes, like the unctuous, spicy seafood linguine and the fantastically-named “Welcome to Milan” (a fillet of veal Milanese served with saffron sauce and a drops of Campari), many choose to put themselves in the hands of the chef when dining here.

This place is a must. It is near fondazione Prada, so perfect stop off after seeing an exhibition on the way back to centro. If you enter you find yourself in a production area of the 19th century. Simple and honest Italian cuisine. Beautiful peace of grilled meat. Desserts are extraordinary.

The space is really impressive - an old warehouse with high ceilings converted into an uber-cool restaurant and bar. The staff is really friendly with a friendly attitude and a good command of English. When we got over the 'wow factor' from the space itself we realised that both the food and the cocktails lived up to the grandiosity of the space.

Is there anything better than sushi and Brazil mixed together? I think not. This kind of sushi is amazing, so tasty it just melts in your mouth other than being aesthetically pleasing obviously. Staff is nice, prices are quite high but you don't mind it excessively because of the incredible quality.

A welcoming, intimate ambience with a hint of Provence in an attractive canal side setting. The only sign of a traditional osteria is in the name - the cuisine is modern and innovative in style. http://www.osteriadiportacicca.it/

Drinks & Nightlife

Some people amble along the canals in Milan’s Navigli district for the romance; it is particularly beautiful at sunset when the last light of the day reflects off the water, slightly pink and perfect. But many come simply for the chance to nab a table at Mag Cafè. While Navigli is well-known for its bars and bustle, Mag Cafè stands out. Owners Flavio Angiolillo and Marco Russo used a little bit of speakeasy charm, a few antiques, and a big dollop of masterful mixology to create this chic bar. Open throughout the day, Mag Cafè is a popular choice for refreshments whenever you happen to be passing through the district; there are coffees, juices and food to enjoy.

It is rather difficult not to li´ke the interior of the Doping club (which is not a club in the dance club kind of sense). The messy, yet stylish inside (smoking allowed, as there is a roofed terrrace inside) creates a cozy and elegant atmosphere.

At the bar they have an excellent aperitivo selection with your drink, and the cocktail list is innovative (and some classics too). Great menu for food, also here you will find a few innovative selections, the Risotto al salto as starter is highly recommended - fried Risotto Milanese, a winner! Burgers are very good.

Al Coccio is cool, unashamedly so. It's in the fashionable Navigli area of Milan so you're going to get your share of hipsters. There is a varied range of beer served from across the globe (probably the only place abroad that I've seen which serves Punk IPA) that comes to your table in terracotta tankards. The place is even better in the summer time, when you can also sit outside by the Naviglio pavese (indoor is very cute but quite tight). The area around is good fun in the heart of Milan. Not too expensive.

After visiting the Duomo Cathedral rooftop you'll be ready for a cold drink and some amazing views of the roof from a different perspective. Come here to enjoy a unique bar and have the original Aperol Spritz - the best in Italy. They kindly offer blankets so you can relax and take in the views while enjoying your Spritz.

This old school bar is my favourite in Milan. A cosy place where you can play backgammon while you drink a cocktail prepared by Jimmy the master of cocktails. After dinner you'll find a bunch of people drinking in and outside. Rocket fuel!!! What else??

Launched during the Salone del Mobile in 2006, DesignLibrary pairs one streamlined, contemporary example of Milan’s cafés with – you guessed it – a library dedicated to architecture and design. Swing through the large glass doors at the back for the nominal annual fee of €25, and access to over 2,000 books and 5,000 magazines will be yours. Anna and Giulio Castelli, design gurus and founders of Kartell, gifted a large chunk of the collection. Emphasis is spread evenly over historical and modern texts, with original Triennale exhibition publications, Driade catalogues and Casabella magazines competing for shelf space.

What makes the Basilica di Sant'Eustorgio an important church in Milan is the fact that each new bishop of Milan has to begin his procession at this place going to the Milan cathedral Duomo. Another important fact is, it has been a favorite place for stop of Pilgrims in Europe because it originally housed the remains of the Three Magi.

Not far from the Porta Genova station, this so called Porta Ticinese is a meeting point from where many roads meet each other and form one of the most beautiful and lively city place, thanks to the presence of canals ''Navigli''. The church dates back to 4th century, but it was extended and rebuilt later. The courtyard is lovely, but in my humble opinion the most interesting part is the main mosaic above the altar and baldacchino. Below the altar is the crypt that holds the body relics of St. Ambrose. It has two towers. which symbolize the division in the Basilica di Sant'Ambrogio of the two contemplative orders - the Canons and the Monks. It was destroyed but was rebuilt in the 11th century and became the mode for Lombard Romanesque churches.

This is one of the oldest, if not the oldest, church in Milan. The basilica itself is a wonderful building but not overly ornate. The real gem is a chapel to the side called the Chapel of Saint Aquilino which dates to the 4th century. Inside are mosaics dating from the 4th century which have survived and are quite exquisite. It's piazza is fronted by Roman columns whilst it's interior, although largely unadorned does have a complete version of The Last Supper I. e. Without a doorway being put through Christ's feet as at S.Marie dell a Grazie!) albeit painted by a pupil of daVinci.

The Sforza family basically ran the city during the Renaissance and their castle is one of the most interesting museums in Milan. The ducal residence, a colossal square-plan redbrick fortress with great towers in each corner and a moat, was commissioned by Francesco Sforza in the 1450s on the foundations of the 14th-century Visconti Castle (Milan’s previous power family). In the medieval castle’s great halls, beneath beautiful frescoed ceilings and delicate stained-glass windows, are collections of art and artefacts from Lombardian, Roman, Egyptian, ancient and prehistoric times; most notable is Michelangelo’s unfinished sculpture, the Rondanini Pietà.

A perfect example of a Gothic cathedral. The vaulted ceilings and elaborate stained glass windows are very impressive. On a sunny day, the rays of light create a very dramatic effect. This basilica is simply magnificent! The way it opens up when you first arrive at the square is stunning and breath taking. I would recommend that you purchase tickets online from the official website to avoid standing in the queue

It might be not "must see" place... But if you are in that area or visiting Basilica of San Lorenzo or Basilica of Sant'Eustorgio, it's worth to walk there a while. Park isn't big but it's a beautiful place that are kept very well. There are many benches to sit and relax or you may just use the lawn.
