Food Scene

Excellent service. Best chicken wings in the world (in my opinion!). Also try the Elephant Burger.. yum! One of the very, very few places I would recommend in Temple Bar. Walk in service only and there will almost always be a wait time. If so, put your name down and head to the Palace Bar at the other end of the street (Westmoreland Street entrance to Temple Bar, anyone will be able to direct you)

Best tapas in Dublin and a gorgeous venue. Very friendly staff and reasonably priced for where it is located and the portion size. When they say only 2 tapas per person they're not kidding!

Located in a lovely part of Dublin city centre. Excellent fish and steak restaurant, all fresh. Not the cheapest but worth it for a special night out.

One of the few bars in the city centre where you will find mostly people from Dublin. The Cedar Tree restaurant is next door and Zaragoza is just up the road on South William Street. This is the perfect pub for pre/post dinner drinks.

Probably the only bar in Temple Bar that I would recommend. Always busy but a really good atmosphere. Go here on your way to/from Elephant & Castle!

Best range of gin around. Brilliant, knowledgeable staff who can recommend a drink and a lovely mixer. You can walk here from the house in 30 minutes. It is also located just off Henry Street, the main shopping street in Dublin.

Apparently it is the longest bar in Ireland! At Christmas it has the best decorations in Dublin. It is literally like walking into Santa's grotto! If you are a wine drinker you can buy your bottle from their off licence and take it into the bar with you - ice bucket and everything! Roaring open fires and close knit snugs make this the perfect spot to relax in after a stroll through the Phoenix Park.

Parks & Nature

This is one of the largest enclosed city parks in Europe. Here you will find Aras An Uachtarain, the home of our President. The American Ambassador's residence is located just across the road. Further on you will find acres of walking trails and if you're lucky, you will see the deer who call this park their home.

The beach here is known locally as Dollymount Strand and is a favourite with us when walking our dogs. You can walk right along the pier or onto the beach/sand dunes. At the other end of the beach is Bull Island, a National Nature reserve. This is perfect for walks, especially with wildlife enthusiasts.

Sightseeing

Not only is this a beautiful building, it also holds a significant place in Irish history as it was the headquarters for the men and women of the 1916 Rising. Well worth a visit.

Arts & Culture

This is one of the best tours I have ever been on. Although I am from Dublin, I have been here on a few occasions as each time you go you learn something new. A must do while on holiday here.
