Farms, parks and trails

We are right in the middle of the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Box Hill Hike is a famous local hike, 8 miles up and down hills. There are also family-friendly shorter woodland trails. Bocketts Farm Park is a working farm set up for children and family visits. The Ride 100 and the 2012 London Olympic Cycle Road Race courses come through our village. There are also many MTB trails within easy reach.
Charming working farm set up for visitors, particularly families with children. Includes an indoor play area. You can walk or cycle there from our house almost completely off road!

Excellent hiking and biking up and down this National Trust owned hill (where Jane Austen famously set a picnic in Emma). The hike is 8 miles off road (join it in our village), but you can drive instead to the top of the hill where there is a tea shop and family friendly play area.

This Surrey Wildlife Trust managed park is just over the road from us. Hikers and cyclists can reach Polesden Lacey and Bocketts Farm via Norbury Park from our house almost completely off road!

Painshill Park is a folly, an artificial park created in the 19th century by an English gentleman which has been lovingly restored, including a large grotto, a Chinese bridge and several lakes. Well worth a visit.
