Tyntesfield Estate has a great house and gardens to visit. There is also a cafe in the old cow shed, a shop and things to do with your kids.

With great views and wildlife, Ashton Court is fab if you like walking, playing golf, playing disc golf, cycling, mountain biking (it has specific mountain biking tracks) or even just a bite too eat.

If you come to Bristol, you can't fail to miss the Suspension Bridge designed by Isambard Brunel which crosses the Avon Gorge. For a closer look, you can walk up from the Portly by the Gorge to the Bridge and of get an iconic photo. The best place for this would probably be by the Observatory nearby.

Bristol Museum often has really good exhibitions on and parts of it are usually free to enter. Banksy once had an exhibition on there which had queues for miles!

A theatre but also a restaurant with good food and drinks. In fact they have two theatres. One for larger shows and one for smaller productions, often for around 30-50 people. We've been many times and highly recommend it.

Bristol Zoo is a lovely place to visit if you have kids. What makes it extra special is that they have a wide variety of animals, plus plant of space to relax on the grass, eat and so on, all in a space that doesn't take too long to get around. There is also an adult high wire / tree top adventure course (for older kids too) which looks great fun though we've not been on it, YET!

What makes it extra special is that they have a wide variety of animals, plus plant of space to relax on the grass, eat and so on, all in a space that doesn't take too long to get around. There is also an adult high wire / tree top adventure course (for older kids too) which looks great fun though we've not been on it, YET!

This is a lovely little community farm in Bedminister which has a nice garden and quite a few animals (pigs, goats, sheep, ducks, rabbits, hens, geese and more). The cafe is really nice for food too!
