Eating Out We have lots of place to eat in Fort William from restaurants and pubs to takeaways, which cover a range of tastes and budgets. The places mentioned below are not exhaustive but rather where we like to eat  Fort William is a popular destination so if you are keen to eat in a particular restaurant then we recommend that you book in advance. Please note that as a nation Scots eat early so the majority of restaurants have last orders at 9 pm! Serving food until 11 pm or later are: The Great Glen, Spiced Tandoori, Abi's Kebabs, The New Highland Star as well as other takeaways on the high street.

Lovely seafood restaurant on the pier in Loch Linnhe so it has fabulous views. They also do a mean steak Recommend booking a window table in advance.

In our opinion this is the best Indian in Fort William. They also have a takeaway option. Serve until 11 pm which is a bonus. If booking ask for a window table as you have views over Loch Linnhe.

This is a takeway although they do have some tables which you can sit at upstairs. We love the Chicken Kebab. Bonus is they are open late

Walks Around Fort William

These are some of the walks which we enjoy going on. The website Walkhighlands also has a number of walks around this area with more details regarding teraine etc. Please use your judgement on weather and conditions. Also suitable clothing is your responsibility.
We absolutely love walking through Steall Gorge at the top of Glen Nevis to the meadow with the stunning waterfall at the end of it. This is a great walk as you can make it as long or short as you need it to be. The rope bridge at the end also provides a fun challenge!

We absolutely love walking through Steall Gorge at the top of Glen Nevis to the meadow with the stunning waterfall at the end of it. This is a great walk as you can make it as long or short as you need it to be. The rope bridge at the end also provides a fun challenge!
The Cow Hill Mast walk gives you great views of Fort William and Ben Nevis. You can walk from our house.

This is a fantastic walk up through the forest in Glen Nevis. It gives you great views of Ben Nevis. All up hill!

The Caledonian Canal is a great place to walk you can make these walks as long or as short as you wish. You can also do a 2 mile circuit from Banavie to the Corpach Basin and back. Fantastic views of Ben Nevis

This is a lovely circular walk. For part of it you walk on the old railway line. There are information boards scattered along the route. Beautiful views of the grey corries.
