Food Scene

Union Market is terrific! If you like wholesale food and wines from Italy, check out the little Italian dive/hideaway across from Union Market, behind the gas station. Worth it. Also the bakery near the Trader Joes. There are so many new restaurants in this enclave that it’s hard to keep up.

Great space for individuals -- and there's a family friendly bookshop next door too, Solid State Books.

Parks & Nature

The national arboretum has a cool bonzai garden, worth seeing, and you can rent bikes at the front gate (which is mislabeled on this map). You can also access the arboretum from the very end of a long path at the end of my street, but shhh, that's a secret entrance... Good for your morning run.
