One of my favourite places in the area, Cottiers is a pub, restaurant and theatre rolled into one. The pub's roaring fire is perfect for the winter and the big beer garden is great during the summer.

The most famous piece is Dali's Christ of St John on the Cross. But the gallery also houses works by Dutch and French masters, as well as Mackintosh. Great museum exhibits too. Well worth a visit.

The beautiful Gothic Revival building at the heart of the university campus is a sight to behold, particularly at night. The university's cloisters are also worth a visit, as is the Hunterian Museum. Tours of the university are available every Thursday to Sunday at 2pm.
