Highest Peak in Virginia on the Blue Ridge Parkway. This is about a 40 minute drive, but well worth it if you like the mountains. You can hike the entire thing if you're that kind of person, or you can pay $10ish to take a crazy bus ride 3/4 of the way up, walk the rest and tell your friends you hiked the whole thing.
