Sightseeing

Take a ferry. Any ferry. Go on a sunny day--that's the best--over to Winslow (Bainbridge Island) just to get an ice cream cone or to walk down the trail to the park along the south side of the island.

Kind of something for everyone here: MoPop, the coolest playground in the City, the Space Needle, the Pacific Science Museum, the Children's Theatre, the Children's Museum, Key Arena, The SEattle Opera House, Intiman Theatre... need I go on?

Safeway

Amazing: wine selection, cheese selection, meat selection, fresh breads brought in daily by local artisanal breadmakers, crackers, fair trade chocolate. They also make their own sausage, their own garlic mashed potatoes made daily, premade (you take it and bake it) meatloaf and other meats, and a variety of sandwiches and salads (the Asian noodle salad is killer). The produce is always a little Meh. You've been advised. The owner and his nephew are long-time family grocers and they do it WELL. You can get everything you need for a picnic right here.
