Neighborhoods

This home resides in the Bates-Hendricks neighborhood. The part of town has street after street of original houses from the Late 1800's. There is a huge resurgence of interest and many of the homes are being renovated with all of the modern conveniences. Take some time to just wander through some neighborhoods. Who knows you may see Two Chicks and a Hammer TV show being filmed down one of those streets.

Brothers Stephen and Brian Lindsay started The HandleBar in 2012 with a pretty simple goal: Bring a new outdoor experience to the city that brings people together, pay off their investment and learn a little about starting/running a small business along the way. Both graduated with degrees in Mechanical Engineering, however the HandleBar pulled them out of corporate America after 3 years of running the business on nights/weekends. By starting The HandleBar, they are combining their love of being outdoors with socializing and meeting new people. The HandleBar is a way to help locals and out of town visitors enjoy this great midwestern city in a unique way. Let’s ride!

Since 1905, four generations of Shapiros have been making quality meals for our family and friends in the United States, buying vegetables from our Italian neighbors; sugar and beans from Needham Hurst, now NKHurst Beans, when they first opened in 1938; and corned beef from Sam & Emil in Chicago, otherwise known as Vienna Beef. Relationships in business turned into friendships.
