Wow! This food is incredible!! Gordon Jones has featured on the TV show ‘Great British Menu’ and the skills he showcases during his 9 course tasting menu tell you why. Pre booking is essential (and might be extremely booked up). Has consistently been top of Trip Advisor rating for the last 10 years (the time I’ve lived in Bath, might be longer!). A 15 minute walk up the hill in Bear Flat.

A warm and friendly gastro pub, sitting behind the Royal Crescent but far enough away from the crowds. Great food, family friendly and a sun trap garden. Also just along from Victoria Park. A 25 minute walk, down the river and up again (but not too many hills).

Contemporary tapas and sherry in the heart of Bath. No reservations taken, just turn up and hope they can squeeze you in. In the summer there’s a courtyard garden at the back to while away an afternoon in. Handily next door to the theatre. Half an hour walk away.
