These are just a few of my favorite beaches on the North Shore.
Hanalei Bay
Lumahai Beach
The river is great for young kids and even babies. Great rope swings on far side for older kids and adults ;-). In the winter DO NOT SWIM IN THE OCEAN HERE. The undertow is STRONG.

Great for babies and younger kids. Can be windy and good for kite boarding or wind surfing. An ok place to snorkel. Reef isn’t that healthy but there can be A LOT of turtles.

The very very end to the right has the BEST swimming. If you are going to be here in the winter you have to be extremely careful of the surf and the undertow.

Kalihiwai Bay
Great beach for kids. Fun river to play in and great rope swings.
Beautiful views of the mountains but you have to walk to the right. There can be lots of Turtles here and descent snorkeling.

Moloaa Bay is about 25 min from Princeville. It is a great beach for swimming in the summer and has nice shade. Usually a little less crowded than some of the more popular / well known beaches.

SUMMER ONLY !!! I love Queens bath in the very very early morning. The furthest pool is my favorite.

Hideaways is great because it’s about a 16-20 walk from the house. The swimming is lovely, the snorkeling is OK, there’s great shade, and did I mention you could walk !

This is a great hike that’s about 10 minutes from the house. Great for kids and adults We recommend the moderate to easy hike to the first bench that has a perfect view of Hanalei and the Bay.

Food scene
Nourish is within walking distance of the house, it is open Monday through Friday. They have great salads, wraps, and açai bowls. Expect to wait a little bit, but that’s pretty normal with everything these days, you just have to plan for it.

If you are particular about your coffee this is hands-down the best place to go? Best coffee on the North Shore. Best avocado toast you’ve ever had, if all those are in season. And fantastic little treats.
