There is nothing like a lazy brunch on your weekend trip away and Amsterdam won't disappoint you with its choice of trendy brunch locations.
Every Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 3 p.m. there is a big farmer's market at the Noordermarkt. A part of the square is occupied by a a flea market section. You can buy local organic produce as well as cheese.
Each Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 1 p.m. there is another market alongside the Westerstraat, mainly with textile products. The part towards Noordemarkt is similar to the Saturday market, but smaller.
Westerstraat offers a lot of restaurants and cafes, as well as several supermarkets and specialty shops.

Getting Around: Public Transport and Bikes

To reach the apartment from the main railway station Amsterdam Centraal go to the upstair deck where the bus station is located and take bus #18 direction Slotervaart.
You can purchase a ticket directly from the driver. Enter the bus through the front door. You will need to exit at the stop "Frederik Hendrikplantsoen". It is a mere 100 m walk to the apartment.
On your way back I'd recommend that you check the timetable, especially if leaving early in the morning on a weekend or on a public holiday.
