The gardens and the house are free to access for the public, the last time I was there. The gardens are connected to the Demesne ie National Park and are a great place to sit down on the grass with a coffee when the sun is out.

The Nave is a good stop off when enroute to Ross Castle or if you want to do a circular walk down Muckross Road and take a left at the river and go down the side of Ross Race and Gold course. Nave has vegan and non-vegan treats made locally and have a great coffee too. This is such a nice setting when the weather is good as they have plenty of outdoor seating and it overlooks the mountains in the distance.

Ways to save

Shop around & use apps

There are 3 public toilet buildings in town, just ask. There are plenty of gift shops in town so make sure to shop around and haggle if you really want something. Look for early bird menus in the more expensive restaurants. Use the Squid and Loyl app to build up points for free coffees, also bring a reusable cup, you will get a discount!
