Food Scene

Authentic East Village Scene frequented by neighborhood regulars. Best coffee in town. Jamie and Liz are the owners whose dream baby this is. Jamie roasts the coffee and will pour you a memorable coffee. Liz makes all the baked goods from the open kitchen in the back. There’s one long communal table and several smaller that seat four with a discreet sign requesting no computers. They want to encourage communication among their patrons and indeed they do. Wether you join the large table of one of smaller tables , you will likely meet someone nice. Stop by in the morning and also pick up a mini sandwich or a slice of frittata , or a slice of their famous Olive oil bread.

Parks & Nature

Jus t a half block away, this small well manicured park has a green to lay on a sunny day , a dog park and a children’s area. Bring a lunch and sit on a bench in the sun or shade. See if you can spot the two resident falcons. Weekends often have a small quartet of live music and sometimes a larger more organized open air concert. Sunday’s there’s a farmers market!

You can bike around the whole island of Manhattan but mind you Citi bikes require you to check in to a bike stall every so often during your ride. If you plan to take the bike trail all around the island, I suggest renting a bike from a bike rental shop so that you have the freedom to just keep going.
