Guide des Quartiers

Atmospheric, highly touristic yet has managed to retain its charm and its homely, village feel. Dotted with architectural gems, lovely cafés and lots, and lots of stairs ! You will definitely deserve your glass of wine and platter of French cheese at the end of a day of visiting Montmartre.

City advice

Getting around

The best way to discover Paris is on foot.

-The best / most economical way is to purchase a Navigo pass at any metro/train station, valid for unlimited rides for a certain period of time. - Consider buses. Slower than the metro, but obviously nicer and a good way to discover the city while being on the move.
Don't miss

The 9th district is a hidden gem often overlooked by tourist

The area around Pigalle and Place Saint Georges is full of quality restaurants, bars and has lovely architecture
Book before you go

Book theater / concert / museum tickets well in advance

Museums are free on the first sunday of each month. European students under the age of 25 can get in for free in most museums.
What to pack

Bring comfy (yet stylish ;)) shoes for endless strolls

Make sure to bring clothes for every weather, as it can be quite fickle specially in spring / autumn. In any case, if you forget something essential, Paris has an amazing shopping scene !
