I have glimpse memories from being inside this palace when I was 10 years old for a private family matter. Almost 50 years afterwards, the incredibly beautiful Palace and gardens are now just open to the public.

The second wife of consort-prince Ferdinand was an Opera singer, and this cottage was where they actually lived together. An incredible location inside Pena Park and a charming, lovely, unique challet.

In my opinion, these are the best "queijadas", the traditional pastries from Sintra. Sapa has a lovely, small tea room and a few sunny tables outside.

These are the historic "travesseiros" pastries from Sintra. Our King Carlos used to ride his horse from Pena Palace here in the wee hours of the morning to eat the just-made, hot travesseiros out of the oven.
