Troncones Guidebook

Getting around the small beach town is very easy. Everything is easily accessible by foot from the Villas. It's a quick 10 minute walk into the heart of town where there's local restaurants and tiendas (little stores) where you can buy groceries or beautiful local trinkets. Many shops close by also rent bicycles. And Orbe's Restaurant in town even rents quads which can be really fun to cruise around on.

Villa Tranquilo and Troncones are very safe and very kid friendly. I've personally been traveling here with my kids since they were one year old. Our villa is especially nice for kids because we are upstairs and have a door to close off access to and from the pool. Many of the other units are completely open. This was something I really appreciated when my kids were little! We also have a great view from the main living area of the villa to the pool to be able to keep an eye on kids down in the common areas or pool. Pack-n-plays are also available upon request for little ones as well.

There's a great local farmer's market on Thursdays at Tres Mujeres right down the road. There's a fun platform to hike to for serious panorama views right behind the villas ( you can see it from the pool). Costa Nativa (right across the street) has amazing ecotours available. Don't miss the hike to the local Cave! The Temazcal Tepeyollotl offers an incredible traditional sweat lodge experience. I know purposely sweating more in hot Mexico sounds crazy, but it's such a cool experience! Troncones also has unlimited beautiful yoga classes around town. I love the Yoga Loft and Yoga Del Pacifico.

Most people and Businesses in Troncones use WhatsApp to communicate. I highly recommend downloading the app to help you make reservations, contact our property manager Angelique, or to book local excursions.

My personal favorite place to volunteer that is very close to my heart is Surfers For Strays. A local non-profit rescue center helping strays animals find loving forever homes and raising awareness about the importance of Spay and Nueter through their free clinics. You can help in many ways while in Troncones through donating time or money, giving puppies baths, walking local dogs, fostering back home,or providing transportation to their new forever home in the US. In order to get dogs out of Mexico SFS relies on kind tourists to give them a ride. Message me if you are interested in helping!

Don't miss the opportunity to release the cutest little creatures you've ever seen at Roberto's Bistro on the south end of town. Times vary depending on when turtles are ready so it's best to check in with them directly after you arrive. Roberto's is also a fun place to stay for a drink or meal afterwards, especially on the nights there's live music.

Troncones is famous for it's world class surfing. Salidita, aka the wave machine, is a short 20 min drive away. The Ranch is also a short drive. The point break at Manzanillo Bay is about a 5 min drive. You can also surf the beach right out in front of the Villas, just walk to the right a little bit. As with all activities please be sure to be safe. Check the weather and conditions, beware of riptides, take a buddy.

Cash is King in Mexico and most places do not take credit cards. There is one ATM in town at the tienda at the top of the T, but it sometimes runs out of cash. I'd recommend bringing some pesos down with you.
