This library is a-buzz with connection. It is a community hub like no other. Well worth a visit. They have lots going on and the atmosphere is beautiful. Love it! If you're there on a Tuesday around 12.30pm you might even hear the Council waiata group practicing. They are so good!

Health & Wellbeing
If you're into yoga, this is a very lovely studio with heaps of classes on offer. Lisa's favourite teachers are Nathan (knowledgeable, kind), Pele (challenging, intuitive), Ali (sweet, lovely sequences) and Greta (super kind, safe).

Neighbourhoods
Lyttelton is a very cool suburb. It's like a mini-Wellington! There is a nice walk you can do around the coast to Cass Bay (then either walk or get a bus back - but check timetables first!).

Lyttelton is a very cool suburb. It's like a mini-Wellington! There is a nice walk you can do around the coast to Cass Bay (then either walk or get a bus back - but check timetables first!).
We love living in Avonside! We are very close to the Red Zone. This is a part of the city that can no longer be built in. You can walk around it and find fruit and nut trees that belonged to the former residents (you can find a foraging map online). There are also beautiful info panels about what different pockets of land are going to be transformed into. Along Retreat Road, there is a special photographic installation that tells some of the earthquake stories of people in the area. The Avon River is nearby and you can walk along it all the way to New Brighton or into town.
