City advice
Customs and culture
Infamous “Fishfly” season.
Most homes located on or near Lake St. Clair have the infamous “Fish-fly” season. Typically starts in Late June and last until around 4th of July. Bugs can get very populated! The life expectancy is less than 48 hours. No need to be afraid, they are harmless. Tips to keep them at a minimum around the house and outside areas. Keep out door lighting off. Use broom to sweep away from surfaces they occupy. No need to be concerned of injuring bugs, remember they hatch and only live 24-48 hours. Feel free to google fish fly for more scientific explanation!
Getting around
Algonac/Clay township. GOLF CARTS allowed.
If your traveling with golf cart in tow, your in luck. Legal for transportation. Don’t own a cart, rentals available in Mt. Clemens and Marysville.

Clay township water park!
Don’t forget to visit the Clay Township water park/play structure. Dog friendly walking path. Music in the park every Thursday month of July for 2021.
