Beautiful walks around this area by Ullswater. I’d recommend walking to the top of Gowbarrow Fell from the waterfall and loop back round for stunning views over the lake. Drive over to Ullswater on Kirkstone pass from Windermere.

Take a trip across on the Windermere chain ferry (just drive on in your car or go as a foot passenger/ with bikes). If on foot or on bikes come off the ferry and take the path along the shores of lake Windermere to visit Wray castle. It’s a great day out.
