Some of the best local shawarma you will get on Nørrebro. Quite close to home and delicious. Always great service - you can always make the man behind the counter smile :) Also, you can take food to go.

I LOVE thai-food and have tried a lot of different places in Copenhagen. WOK is by far the best and the prices are fair. If you're up for taking a little trip, please do yourself the favor and go to Vesterbro and pick up some delicious thai. You can also eat on location and enjoy the many cocktailbars and beerbars on Istedgade af you're done eating. It's woth the trip.

This place is awesome. A gem smack down in a residential area not so far from my house. They serve italian food and it's really delicious. It's a restaurant but also to-go.

OMG! The best icecream in town! I kid you not. And it's close to home (3 km. away). Originally, the first store opened in Amager (close to the beach), but now it's also to be found in my part of the city. Bus 6A takes you all the way - look for the bus that says "Buddinge St." It's open all year around.

A bit more pricy and almost always a line to get in, but the location in exclusive and the drinks likewise. If you're up for splurging this is the place to be and close to other bars and nightclubs.

Such a cozy and cool bar inside Hotel Plaza by the main train station. Just ask for the bar in the reception. Live jazz every Friday and Saturday at around 18-19 (not sure, but you can always call and ask).

Nyhavn is by far one of the most interesting places in Copenhagen. All the colorful buildings, cafés and canals are quite breathtaking. But note that it's very touristy in the summertime. Take a boatride (kanalrundfart) and enjoy an hourlong ride through the canals where you will pass everything from The Little Mermaid, The old Stock Exchange, The Opera, Christiansborg and a lot of other interesting sights in Copenhagen. Def. worth the trip. I always do it in the summer - I love sailing.

The newest addition to the cultural scene is the new Operahouse. You can cross the water by using the new bridge from Skuespillerhuset close to Nyhavn - note: you can only walk or bike. The chandeliers inside are really pretty and the theater breathtaking. Remember to visit Papirøen right next to the Opera House which is a foodmarket with really good food and drinks. Sometimes they have livemusic.

Parks & Nature

A park close to home. I always come here and grill with friends or enjoy a pizza from Fabios, when the weather is nice. I also do my daily runs here. It's a fairly big park with trails, soccerfields and right next to one of the oldest and biggest hospitals Bispebjerg in Copenhagen.

Grundtvigs Kirke

On top of the hill on Tagensvej (a 10 minute walk from my house), you will find the church named after the priest and poet N.F. S. Grundtvig. Is was opened to the public in 1940 and is a very impressive piece of art - 5 mill. bricks were used to build the church and only 5 men started the building process. Close by you will find the Bispebjerg Cemetary, which will take you down to the beautiful marsh Utterselv Mose. Here you can take a quiet walk around the march and walk back through the cemetary and back home.
You need to take a train to get here and maybe a bus (unless you have a car), but this place is amazing and huge! It's one of the worlds biggets and oldest outdoor museums with more than 100 buildings/houses from all over the country. If you want to know how people lived back in the days, this is where to go see it. Pack some lunch and sit on the grass or on a bench and take it all in. It's like being back in the good old days.

Getting Around

I have only tried this place. I mostly bike around Copenhagen or take the bus. You can always take 6A from the corner of Tagensvej and Lygten towards Rødovrehallen. That will take you straight to downtown (Nørreport St, Rådhuspladsen and The Central Station).
