Neighborhoods

Traditionally, or at least in recent times, Bushwick has been a working class Hispanic neighborhood. Nowadays, it got gentrified somewhat; it is now at a fine point of healthy mix of old-timers and new transplants. New transplants are mostly young professionals, artists, musicians, foodies, fashionistas, skaters, anarchists, etc etc. Due to the mix, the hood is rich in culture. You can start with Mexican tamales bought from a lady with a shopping cart and coolers near the subway entrance, have lunch at one of the numerous coffee shops, check the galleries and shops in the afternoon, have semi-classy French dinner, and finish off with a loud post-punk show.
