Local Hikes
5 mile roundtrip, moderate hike.
Look to the west while in Fort Collins and you'll see a big rock that looks like a horses tooth. It's a great hike with nice views of horsetooth reservoir and the city of Fort Collins while hiking. There's a small scramble at the top that is worth the view. Bring a lunch or snack for the top!
There is a pavilion and bathrooms at the parking lot.

Horsetooth Mountain Open Space
6550 West County Road 38 East5 mile roundtrip, moderate hike.
Look to the west while in Fort Collins and you'll see a big rock that looks like a horses tooth. It's a great hike with nice views of horsetooth reservoir and the city of Fort Collins while hiking. There's a small scramble at the top that is worth the view. Bring a lunch or snack for the top!

There are lots of great trails here. Arthurs Rock is the most notable as you'll have a great view of Fort Collins and it's a wonderful hike.

We've done this a few times and it was so much fun. You can rent a stand up paddle board and paddle in and out of some of the little inlet's. One of the inlets is part of Lory State Park. If it's a nice day you'll see a bunch of kids jumping off the high rocks into the water!
