This is a true southern comfort cafe with chicken fried steak, brisket that falls apart and shrimp to die for...try the scorpion Tails!
It's a Texas steak restaurant, more pricey but has a really great salad bar (which you can buy separately,) and it's an experience in itself. Has a nice bar and great waiting area with free popcorn, chips and salsa as well as tea and sodas. There is generally always a wait (arrive before 5pm to get in quickly,) and is moderately priced, but you can spend $50 a person if you buy steaks. Casual dress. Be sure to check out all the Texas art.

Great park, just a few minutes away. Have a 3 mile walking/running trail, great areas for outdoor games/biking/hiking has fields for play and playgrounds. Great gold course and range. Some great restaurants in the area.

This is miles and miles of hike and bike trails. Keep an eye out for coyotes, but well worth a trip. We enter at beltway 8 and I-10 south. Parking under the freeway is free and there are no fees anywhere.

City Centre is a great experience, free parking in a few garages. Restaurants, events in the open space for free...check their calendar for events. Outdoor field allows kids to play while parents sit on the sidelines watching. At night fabulous water features with fire pots light up the night.

Close to this home is a great Thai restaurant on Longpoint, Korea town is just up Westview and Chinatown /Mahatma Gandhi District/ as well as Pappy's which is southern comfort food, andTaste of Texas is all about Texas. Yelp is a great app for finding food.
