Beautiful views, pleasant hikes (once you get off the paved trails), and certainly worth the short drive. It's very touristy in the summer, so go first thing in the morning if you want to avoid the crowds. Sunrise and sunset are both magical. The Visitor Center across from the entrance is also worth a stop before you enter the park -- you can pick up a map and learn some interesting facts about the area.

Always a great variety of art, and the history of the Fine Arts Center is amazing. It was one of the first establishments that brought the arts to this region, and when it was built, helped define Colorado Springs as a national hub for arts and culture.

The Broadmoor is one of our favorite places to go in town when we just want a pleasant experience. We like to valet park, get a coffee/hot chocolate, and walk around the lake. Everything is beautiful, the staff are delightful, and it's a perfect little break. There are also several great restaurants here.
