It's a 15 minute walk, but if it's nice out, it's an easy stroll and you can grab the B, Q, 2, 3, 4, 5, or Long Island Railroad.

Shopping

Lots of great NY-themed books, can be pricey but it's cute to browse and there are great restaurants nearby.

Food Scene

Very popular pizza place - the lines get very long so try to go on a weekday and show up at opening. They do not take reservations and I've waited up to 2 hours (luckily the apartment is close enough to add your name to the list, then mosey back over for drinks with friends at home before the restaurant calls you for dinner).

Cutest restaurant in the neighborhood - great vibes, quiet enough to hear your dinner partner, but still buzzy enough for a weekend night!

Reasonably priced and actually quite good Indian food, although I've only ever tried the Chicken Tikka.
