GREAT ice cream. It's the only place we've ever known to do the flavor burst with chocolate ice cream as well as the vanilla! Personal favorite: Chocolate with the raspberry burst. They also offer a variety of hard ice cream and snacks. You can also play a game of mini golf! This gem is literally 1 mile from your stay. Open May-September.

If you don't mind traveling about 20 minutes, we highly recommend going to DTCT! They have an array of craft beers on tap, and the food is AMAZING. Personal favorites: The Medusa pizza, and their tavern fries. They do wood fired wings, pizza, flatbread sandwiches, and offer a bunch of other things. You can even get yourself a boozy milkshake! If you like sushi, Siam Thai has it! We love this place. They have a huge selection of special rolls to choose from, as well as vegetarian options and even a roll with chicken tempura! They also make Thai food. Lunch is cheaper, but the rolls are smaller. This restaurant is a little more pricey than some. But very delicious. Personal favorites: Spring Rolls to start, Honeymoon Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll & Dragon Roll. Open Year Round.

We love the gyros here! They are pretty big, so you should be full ordering just one. We like to get them to go and sit at Sheperd's Park across the street. You can sit under a tree, or at a picnic table closer to the water. You can usually get 2 gyros and a drink for about $20. Open Year Round, but hours may change seasonally.

Neighborhoods

In the Summertime, Lake George usually has a lot going on. From car shows, to an Elvis Music Fest, Americade Bike Week, and so on. There are a lot of shops on Canada Street, along with many restaurants. You can grab a quick slice at Capri, or you can find one of many fine dining options. There are also a lot of water activities. You can go to the beach for free, where there are bathrooms available. Or you can pay to go parasailing, take out a jet ski, or rent a Tiki Hut Bar! Lake George tends to wind down during the colder months, but they still keep activities going. Octoberfest is in the Fall. And then there is the Winter Carnival in February. Depending on the weather, they will host a variety of activities. And of course, there are always drinks available!

Lake Luzerne is a small town 10 minutes from Lake George. While Lake George is busier, we tend to keep things a little less busy. There are far more things to do involving nature. Plenty of places to hike, bike, or simply hang out. We are close to a river where you can swim and lazy river tube. Or if you're more adventurous, there is another river that does white water rafting. We are also only minutes away from a Tree Top Park. Across the street from there, Harris Grocery has the BEST subs. The owner also makes every salad and dessert from scratch, everyday. You can also ride horses or go on a snowmobile tour right on our road.

Downtown Glens Falls has a lot to offer. There are several restaurants and shops. They also host the Cool Insuring Arena, where most area events take place. If you decide to go to town to shop, we recommend Rude Betty's if you have a good sense of humor. Whisper Boutique is a great little shop for women's clothing. And 42 Degrees is a unique store for those who enjoy a smoke.

Cold winter weather can be a downer. But we are just 10 minutes away from a newly renovated bowling alley. This place is great. They have bowling, 2 bars, an arcade, laser tag and even simulation games in the bar! You can really tire yourself out playing sports on the simulator, or even playing Zombie Dodgeball (our personal favorite).
