Honour Avenue is located in Graceville. This area has an interesting mix of local restaurants from a gorgeous wine bar, Italian, French and Australian restaurants. If you feel energetic you could walk over the Walter Taylor Bridge which is just behind our house and meander down. Appox 40 minute walk. I would advise booking to make sure they are open.

Interesting shopping with designer brands if that is your thing. Movie cinema and lots of restaurants. Parking is difficult but you could catch a bus to the city and a quick taxi fare there. The Calile Hotel is worth a visit, even if you just have a drink or cocktail by the pool. You need to book. Enjoyable little pocket of entertainment.

Food scene

Brisbane is one of the nicest and easiest cities. Great food and shopping in the Queen Street Mall. Walkways connect an interesting array of restaurants and cafes along the Brisbane River starting Eagle Street Pier and ending up at Howard Smith Wharf. Eat and Drink your way around. Botanical Gardens is definitely worth a stroll and this can connect you to South Bank by walking over a foot bridge, where you can swimming at the beach there. Unbelievably nice place to visit. Every thing connects so spend the day. You can catch a bus or train directly from Indooroopilly to the city or Southbank (walk to the city via the Botanical Gardens.)

A cool and trendy waterfront precinct, with bars, music and a mix of casual and high end dining options. HSW is a stone throw from the centre of Brisbane CBD and displays spectacular views of the city, especially in the afternoon and into the evening. Walking distance from the Eagle St Ferry stop in the city.

Its a visual thing. You can view the whole of the city from this vantage point and to make it more enjoyable there is a restaurant. Just a thing you do when you come to Brisbane. Also close to Indooroopilly and quite close to the Botanical Garden so you could visit both in a day.

City advice

Getting around

Trains and buses

Indooroopilly Train Station is a 10-15 minute walk down hill from the front door and is a direct and reliable mode of transport to the city or anywhere in Brisbane. Buses are available from Indooroopilly Shopping Centre up the road, 5-10 minute walk. From here you can catch a bus to Southbank and then onto the city. Very convenient also.
